This policy explains what The Boardroom stores on your device when you use boardroomdarts.com, why we store it, and how to turn the optional parts off. It describes what the site actually does rather than a generic template, and we update it when the site changes.
The Boardroom is operated by Dhanhai Darts Ltd, 71 Crouch Street, Colchester, Essex CO3 3EY. For anything in this policy, email info@boardroomdarts.com or call 01206 645180.
At a glance
- Nothing optional runs until you say yes. Before you choose, we set no cookies at all.
- We use two analytics tools, Google Analytics and Metricool. Both are off by default.
- We run no advertising, retargeting or social media tracking pixels.
- We do not sell your data, and we never have.
- You can change your mind at any time, using the button below.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. Similar technologies do the same job in different ways, and we use two of them. Local storage holds a value in your browser until it is cleared. Tracking pixels are tiny images that report a page view without storing anything on your device at all.
Where this policy says cookies, it covers all three.
Your choices
When you first arrive we ask you to accept or reject analytics. Until you answer, the analytics tools do not load and no cookies are written. If you reject, we also delete any analytics cookies that were set earlier.
The button below shows your current setting and lets you change it whenever you like.
Cookies that are always on
These keep the site working and cannot be switched off here, because without them you could not sign in, hold a lane or pay. They are not used for tracking or advertising.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-...-auth-token | Keeps you signed in to your Boardroom account between pages and visits. | Up to a year, refreshed as you browse | The Boardroom, via Supabase |
| pending_booking_id | Remembers an unpaid lane booking, so we can offer to take you back to it if you navigate away. | 15 minutes | The Boardroom |
| boardroom-cookie-consent | Stores your answer to the cookie banner. Held in local storage rather than a cookie. Without it we would have to ask you again on every page. | Until you clear your browser data | The Boardroom |
| __stripe_mid | Helps Stripe spot fraudulent card use. | 1 year | Stripe |
| __stripe_sid | The short-lived half of the same fraud check. | 30 minutes | Stripe |
The two Stripe cookies appear when a payment form actually loads. On lane checkout and membership checkout that happens as the page opens, because you are already paying. For event reservations and for updating a card on your account, Stripe is not loaded until you start the payment step, so simply reading an event page sets nothing. They are there to protect you and us from card fraud.
Analytics, only if you accept
These tell us which pages people actually use, so we know what to improve. They never load unless you accept.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Tells one visitor from another, so visit counts are not wildly wrong. | 2 years | Google Analytics |
| _ga_7GS1GXXDP5 | Keeps track of your current session on the site. | 2 years | Google Analytics |
| Metricool pixel | Loads a small image that records the page you viewed and your screen size, which feeds our website and social reporting. It stores nothing on your device. | Nothing stored | Metricool |
If you buy a membership, we also keep a short marker in session storage for the life of that browser tab, purely so the same purchase is not counted twice. It disappears when you close the tab.
What we do not use
Plenty of sites list advertising cookies here. We have none, so this section is short.
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No Meta, TikTok, Google Ads or other social tracking pixels.
- No profiling, and no automated decisions about you based on how you browse.
- No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers.
If that ever changes, this page changes first, and the banner will ask for your consent again.
The third parties involved
Three companies can receive data through this site. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Stripe handles payments and card fraud checks. Stripe privacy policy.
- Google Analytics measures site usage, only with your consent. Google privacy policy.
- Metricool counts page views for our website and social reporting, only with your consent. Metricool privacy policy.
Supabase hosts our database and sign-in, and Vercel hosts the site itself. Neither sets tracking cookies on your device.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Your browser can block or delete cookies for any site, including this one. The settings usually sit under Privacy or Security. Browsers also offer a private or incognito window, which clears everything when you close it.
Blocking everything will break the parts of the site that need to remember you. You will not be able to stay signed in, and checkout will not complete.
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no agreed standard for how sites should answer it, so we do not rely on it. Use the button on this page instead, which we do act on.
Your data rights
Cookies are only part of the picture. Our privacy policy covers what we do with your personal data, how long we keep it, and your rights to see, correct or delete it.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first, so we can put it right.
Changes to this policy
We update this page whenever we add or remove something that stores data on your device. The date at the top tells you when it last changed. If we add anything that needs your consent, the banner will come back and ask.
